Puppy Purchase Precautions

VICTORIA - A Victoria couple is warning people to do their homework, after the puppy they bought at a pet store died from Parvo-Virus. James Whittall and Holly Unsworth bought the four month old puppy from pet store ‘Creatures Great and Small.’ They claim a veterinarian told them the puppy received two vaccinations, but they were given too far apart, making the dog vulnerable to the highly contagious disease. The pet store was not available to comment on the case. The BC SPCA says the pet store industry isn’t regulated, and people need to do their homework before they buy.
