Hulu.com History
The Hulu venture was announced in March 2007, with AOL, MSN, MySpace and Yahoo! planned as “initial distribution partners”. Jason Kilar was named the CEO in June. The name Hulu was chosen in late August 2007, when the website went live, with an announcement only and no content. It invited users to leave their email addresses for the upcoming beta test. In October, Hulu began the private beta testing by invitation, and allowed users to invite friends. Hulu launched for public access in the United States on March 12, 2008.
Hulu is a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corp, with funding by Providence Equity Partners, which made a USD0 million equity investment and holds a 10% stake.
The name Hulu comes from a Mandarin Chinese proverb (宝葫芦), in which it means holder of precious things. Literally, it refers (in Chinese) to the calabash gourd.

The $155,000 CLONED PUPPY ! | The Story

A Florida couple pays 5,000 for a cloned puppy — watch the pup play ! [JAN 2009]
___________________________
A couple from Boca Raton, FL reports that they have purchased the first single-birth, commercially cloned puppy in the United States.
BioArts International created a genetic clone of Nina and Edgar Ott’s deceased yellow lab, Lancelot. The puppy, Lancelot Encore, was born 10 wks ago in South Korea, and delivered to the couple at Miami International Airport on Monday night.
The Otts believed that genetic cloning would someday be possible and had their lab’s DNA collected, and frozen, 5 years ago. Their prior dog, Lancelot, passed away in January 2008. BioArts held an auction for their dog cloning service this past July, and the Otts paid 5,000 for their chance to have Lancelot genetically reproduced.
In August 2008, Bernann McKinney had 5 pit bull terrier puppies genetically reproduced from her deceased companion, Booger. Animal charities deeply condemned the practice at the time, citing the thousands of dogs needing homes in area shelters. Opponents also remind those considering cloning that life experiences affect personalities, not just genetics.
Apparently the science to continue this practice is here, if you have the money and the desire to pursue it.

This video is about the commercial dog breeding industry, often referred to as puppy mills. Many people do not know this “invisible” industry even exists but it does and it is perfectly legal even though it leads to the death of millions of animals in shelters every year. Please spread the word about this industry and support those organizations working tirelessly to change laws regarding mills and to save the animals victimized by the industry. Feel free to link to this video in order to spread the word.
