How to train any puppy!!!

In this video, I address some of the most popular questions regarding puppy training. When should you start training a puppy? How do you teach a dog to want to be obedient? How to establish good habits, eliminate behavior problems and some house-training basics. The key is to set your dog up to be successful without even giving them a chance to do the wrong thing. Puppies are curious and energetic which combined, may cause them to learn inappropriate behaviors. But if we actively supervise them and manage the environment, then they will quickly develop into well mannered members of your family. A positive attitude is the most significant tool when bonding with a puppy. By adding or removing positive reinforcement (whether it is attention, or food) we can effectively curb, guide & nurture behavior. My answer to a very popular viewer question: Curbing play-biting/mouthing/nipping is the top priority for new puppy parents. Consistency & a positive, gentle approach allows us to quickly & effectively teach a puppy to make the right choices. The emphasis is on teaching the puppy the appropriate behaviors, instead of correcting them for making reasonable mistakes. Remember that puppies love to interact with their human(s) in all sorts of ways, and learn from every interaction that we have with them. As an alternative to using aversive punishment, this multi-faceted approach allows us to creatively connect with our dogs by employing positive reinforcement and harnessing a relationship that is based on trust & respect.
